Last week, Max Woolger, VP Revenue at Ezekia, was in Buenos Aires for the AltoPartners Global Conference 2026, hosted by Bäcker & Partners, AltoPartners' member firm in Argentina.

AltoPartners is a worldwide alliance of retained executive search and leadership consulting firms, operating through 62 offices across 36 countries on six continents. This year marked their 20th anniversary as a network, making the Buenos Aires gathering a particularly significant one. The conference brought together member firms and partners from across the globe for a day of conversation, collaboration, and shared thinking on where the industry is heading.

Presenting to the Network

Max presented a session called "AI for the Rest of Us: What seven classes taught a non-expert, and what it means for executive search." The session drew on real experience rather than theory, working through what AI tools actually mean in practice for retained search firms, from which platforms to use and why, to how the firms that invest in the right infrastructure will be better positioned as AI develops, not worse.

The central argument was one that resonates strongly with the AltoPartners community: AI is not killing software. It is changing which software matters. The firms that will benefit most are those whose data is in good shape and sitting in a system that can work with it. For executive search firms, that means a CRM built around real relationships, mandate history, and market intelligence rather than a collection of spreadsheets that AI cannot reach.

As Max put it after the event:

It has been so lovely being in Buenos Aires for the AltoPartners Executive Search conference hosted by Bäcker & Partners. Such a super group of smart and friendly people and it's been great to see many of our clients too. Loved presenting to everyone and looking forward to continuing the partnership for many years!

A Client Visit That Made the Trip

While in Argentina, Max also took the opportunity to visit Stanton Chase Buenos Aires in person, meeting with Daniel Iriarte, Ezequiel Palacios, and the wider team.

Stanton Chase is an Ezekia client, and visits like this are a reminder of why in-person time matters. There is a different quality of conversation when you are sitting across the table from a team, hearing how they work, what they are thinking about, and where the platform can serve them better. The fact that the Argentina trip could combine a global conference with a client visit made it all the more worthwhile.

A Night In Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires would not be Buenos Aires without tango. AltoPartners arranged an evening at Albur, a restaurant and live music venue in the city’s former “El 35” theatre, and Max filmed a clip of the dancers and the band.

Why AltoPartners Matters to Ezekia

The AltoPartners network is exactly the kind of community Ezekia is built for. Independent, retained, relationship-driven firms operating across multiple markets, each with their own client relationships and candidate networks built up over years. The technology they need is not a generic ATS. It is a platform that understands mandates, tracks relationships across the full lifecycle of a search, and gives teams a single place where everything they know lives.

Being a trusted technology partner to networks like AltoPartners, and being invited to present at their global conference, reflects the conversations we are already having with firms across the alliance. We are grateful to AltoPartners and to Bäcker & Partners for the invitation and for a genuinely memorable few days in Buenos Aires.
