Who We Are

We did not take home the trophy. But we did leave the Hilton with something worth writing about.

Earlier this month, the Ezekia team attended the UK Business Tech Awards 2026 ceremony in London, where we had been shortlisted for SaaS Company of the Year. The awards, run by Don't Panic Events in partnership with SeedLegals, celebrate the startups, scaleups, and technology businesses driving innovation across the UK, and being named among the finalists was already a milestone we were proud of.

The Evening

The event was held at the Hilton Hotel, and the atmosphere made clear this was a night worth attending. A full evening of drinks, dinner, and an awards ceremony hosted by Nayha, before giving way to networking that went well into the night. The room was full of people building genuinely interesting things, which is exactly the kind of environment where you leave with more energy than you arrived with.

It was also a reminder of how much good work is happening across the UK technology sector. SaaS Company of the Year went to SHUFTI, whose end-to-end digital identity verification platform made a compelling case on the night. Quorso, founded by Dan Slowe and a familiar face to Max, took silver in the same category. The kind of evening where you feel genuinely pleased for the people around you, even when the result does not go your way.

What the Shortlisting Meant

We wrote about what this nomination represented when it was announced, and that piece is still worth a read if you want to understand what we have been building and why recognition like this matters to us: Ezekia Shortlisted for SaaS Company of the Year at the UK Business Tech Awards 2026.

The short version: executive search has been underserved by technology for a long time. Being shortlisted for a major UK tech award, judged by a panel well outside our own industry, was external proof that what we are building is genuinely worthy of attention. That means something.

Not winning does not change that.

What Comes Next

We are continuing to invest in the platform, in AI capabilities, and in the integrations that make our clients' work faster and more focused. The shortlisting was fuel, not a finish line.

Max has also written a piece for the UK Business Tech Awards community that is worth reading if you are thinking seriously about executive search technology. It is called Why Executive Search Needs Its Own CRM (Not a Repurposed ATS), and it makes the case that many search teams are running their business on software built for a completely different job.

The core argument: high-volume recruiting is an inbound, throughput problem. Executive search is the opposite. It is an outbound, relationship-led discipline built on market intelligence, long-game candidate engagement, and the ability to track a person across every mandate they have ever been connected to, not just the one they are currently in. General-purpose ATS platforms were never designed for that, and the workarounds firms build to compensate cost more than most realise.
