Behind the Scenes at Ezekia: Our 2025 in Candid Focus

Another December, another Christmas post — and yes, perhaps another attempt to squeeze a couple of sympathy likes to give Ezekia some exposure. Perhaps. 🎄

But sticking with my annual photography theme, this isn’t really marketing. It’s a brief candid look behind the product, an expose. As an F1 fan, the best way to describe it is this: people see the polished car and the race, but not the garage at 2 a.m. or the strategy calls that actually win it.

This is our abridged version of Drive to Survive — Seeky to Ezeeky (working title).

In a year where AI dominated every conversation (and a few apocalypse predictions 😅), my experience inside Ezekia was different. I realised again that no matter how good the AI is, it’s the humans who make the difference.

I’m no foodie, but if AI is the world’s best sous-chef, the people are the chefs. AI preps; humans taste, tweak, improvise and empathise. They create the magic — and they disagree with each other. AI is the (not elementary) Watson to the humans' Holmes. It’s also a large part of why our retention is market-leading for clients and employees.

And that human edge — supported by AI — showed up everywhere:

  • 100+ new firms joined us

  • At conferences (and this year we became Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC) members)

  • Every migration landed cleanly, with zero data loss

  • Our CS team built relationships that feel like partnerships, not tickets

  • Our team grew to nearly 80 brilliant humans

  • And we visited firms in Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Germany, Japan, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UAE and the US, each a reminder of how global and nuanced executive search really is

Yes, we kept innovating.

Yes, the product levelled up again.

Yes, AI played its biggest role yet and will continue to do so every year for the foreseeable future.

But the real story of 2025 was the people behind the scenes — the ones answering calls, writing code, shipping features and keeping promises.

As we wrap up the year, I’m grateful for the growth, proud of the product and most of all thankful for the people who make Ezekia what it is: our team, our customers and everyone who puts their trust in us.

2026 will bring more people and more AI — and that’s a pretty strong recipe for success. 😊

Wishing everyone a great end to the year and a relaxing break.

PS – that F1 car took me 20 Gemini prompts (and maybe should’ve taken 25)…
